Storm Response: How Crew B Stepped Up During the Southern BC Coast Tempest
Last night, during the storm that ripped through the Southern BC Coast, Crew B were twice tasked by JRCC. The first call came at 01:31. Station 1 was tasked to assist vessels in English Bay, which were dragging anchor and at risk of going aground. Successful Rescue In Whytecliff Highlights Importance of Quick Response
Last night at 22:28, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) tasked Station 1 with assisting a boat adrift South of Whytecliff. The weekend duty crew, who had had a very eventful long weekend, responded and were on scene with the vessel at 22:51. After assessing that the vessel and passengers were in no immediate danger, a tow line was attached and the power boat was towed to the Horseshoe Bay Pier.
